  7. Very deep = high pressure • ROV = Remotely Operated Vehicle • This ROV is cutting into a pipe in deep water • There is no pressure inside the pipe, but high pressure due to the depth outside. • Strange things happen in deep water… Video 1

Living Under Pressure • Deep sea divers live in ‘saturation’ under pressure for around 4 weeks at a time • Can you imagine living with 12 people for 4 weeks in something about the size of a caravan? • They breathe a mixture of helium with a little bit of oxygen at very high pressure Video 2 Image courtesy Kongsberg
