Why we need a network? West Midlands Health Informatics Network
Vision WIN aims to support NHS and affiliated healthcare organisations in adopting information technology solutionsto transform the care they provide for their patients. Our ethos is to connect health informatics experts, professionals and enthusiasts across geographical, organisational and professional boundaries to work towards the goal of achieving effective, efficient and high quality healthcare in West Midlands. Objectives • Encourage and support closer working between academics with an interest in health informatics and NHS • Enable closer working between IT professionals and clinicians • Establish a forum to discuss and disseminate innovation and good practice in health informatics • Promote research in health informatics Support establishment of health informatics centre of excellence in West Midlands • Support designing of health informatics courses West Midlands Health Informatics Network
Who can join? • Any healthcare or social care professionals working in NHS (including general practices), local government and Public Health England • Academics in Universities • The network will also be open for registration to private sector organisations that provide healthcare related informatics and digital products; some limitations may apply West Midlands Health Informatics Network
Benefits • Members will have priority for workshops and conferences (most are free of charge) • Forums are only accessible for members • Members will have the opportunity to create their own special interest group • The website will have resources that can help with service work, research and education in relation to health informatics and digital technology • Members will have the opportunity to express their needs in terms of skills in health informatics; resulting in tailored educational programmes • Members will be given priority for any courses that are developed through collaborations between NHS and Universities West Midlands Health Informatics Network
