  2. The Olympic Games The Olympic Games are events is a major international event featuring summer and winter sports, in which thousands of athletes participate in a variety of competitions. Originally, the ancient Olympic games were held in Olympia, Greece, from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD.

The Olympic Games • The olympic games in ancient Greece were dedicated to the god Zeus and Aphrodite.The Olympic symbol consists in five rings that represent the five continents of the world: Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania. Theyare intertwined to symbolize the friendship of all peoples in the sport.

  4. The Olympic Games • The Winter Olympics Games were performed in 1924 in the French town of Chamonix.Actually, the next Summer Olympics Games will be held in London, UK, in 2012, while the Winter Olympics Games will be held in Sochi, Russia in 2014.
