Promoting Self-Advocacy and Family Support in American Samoa: Key Recommendations

This document outlines essential recommendations for enhancing self-advocacy and family support in American Samoa. Key initiatives include establishing self-advocacy information centers run by self-advocates, hosting self-advocate trainers from national organizations, and fostering collaboration among territories. Additional funding is needed for travel, technical assistance, and educational resources to engage with local legislatures. Furthermore, support for new self-advocacy groups is critical to unite advocates and provide essential guidance for families in navigating cultural contexts and educational partnerships.
