  1. Welcome to CLRMA’s “Day on the Rez”, Lakes Appreciation Month Event at Boulder Reservoir, July 23, 2008

  2. H2O Joe was there courtesy of the City of Boulder

  3. Vendors included: Ted Miller and Associates, Inc., GeoTech, Full Spectrum, Hach/Hydrolab, Kline Microscopes, SolarBee, and Idexx.

  4. The intrepid CLRMA participants forge toward a raft on Boulder Reservoir to see lake sampling equipment demonstrations.

  8. CLRMA participants head out onto the lake for an aquatic weed sampling demonstration by Elizabeth Brown, CLRMA Secretary and ANS Coordinator for CDOW.

  9. Only found a few macrophytes this year!

  11. Vic Lucero, CLRMA Past-President, City of Thornton, who brought his boat to the event and here, strikes a Captain’s pose!

  13. SolarBee demonstration begins in the parking lot after lunch!

  14. Shoreline demonstrations included: Boat Safety (USGS), Aquatic Nuisance Species (USBR/DOW), Macroinvertebrates (USGS) and stalked diatoms (DIDYMO – USGS)

  15. Dave Johncox, USGS Safety Officer, demonstrates a variety of flotation and other safety gear.

  16. Vic Lucero wears and test “dives” in a full immersion suit as part of the boat safety demonstration.

  17. Gene Seagle and Elizabeth Brown (seated) present information on Zebra and Quagga mussels and the new boat inspection program in several Colorado lakes and reservoirs.
