Did you know? • It is preferred in racing • Can control the gear you are in • Always keep the car in the power band • Usually have stage 2 or higher clutches • More reliable than a torque converter • Heavier about 150 pounds • Lose 20% of power Source: drivingfast.net

  5. How a manual works • 3 Petals • The manual trans has an extra petal • A clutch engages the trans to the engine • Different types of clutches • Different tranny’s

How to drive a manual • Push in the clutch and put in 1st gear • Next bump the accelerator • Once you achieve the higher rpm let out the clutch until you feel the engine engage • When you feel the engine engage let it out slowly until the engine is fully engaged • When you get moving change to higher gear • To change gear rev match • To slow down, downshift (heel,toe)

  7. Easy on your pocket • When it comes to cost, a manual drive transmission car is cheaper than the automatic.
