  1. PRAY FOR ALL YOU’RE WORTH (SERIES) “THINE IS THE KINGDOM…” MATTHEW 6:9-13

  2. THE LORD’S PRAYER • “Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed by thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we for those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

  3. I. GOD IS… “Thine is the…” God is the focus God is the priority God is the answer God is authority God is owner

  4. II. GOD’S KINGDOM “THINE IS THE KINGDOM…” IF THE KINGDOM IS HIS – THEN HE IS THE KING!

  5. A. THINE IS THE KINGDOM MEANING: THE KINGDOM OF THIS WORLD! “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name shall be called, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government, there will be no end…from that time forward, even forever.” (Isa. 9:6,7)

  6. “And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.” (Luke 1:31-33)

  7. B. THINE IS THE KINGDOM MEANING: THE DIFFERENT KINGDOMS OF THIS WORLD! “…And there were loud voices in Heaven saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ. And He shall reign forever and ever.” (Rev. 11:15)

THE KINGDOMS OF THIS WORLD • ROMAN EMPIRE (150 B.C.- A.D. 395) • MONGOL EMPIRE (A.D. 1300-1400) • BRITISH EMPIRE (A.D. 1600-1800) • GREEK EMPIRE (B.C. 330 – B.C. 150) • OTTOMAN EMPIRE (A.D. 1299 – 1723) • PERSIAN EMPIRE (B.C. 550- B.C. 330) • QING DYNASTY (A.D. 1644-1912) • RUSSIAN EMPIRE (A.D. 1721-1917) • BYZANTINE EMPIRE (A.D. 395 - 1395) • EGYPTIAN EMPIRE (B.C. 3000 - B.C. 1500)

  9. “God is the Judge. He puts one down and lifts up another.” (Psalm 75:7) “Let the name of the Lord be blessed forever…He removes rulers and establishes rulers.” (Daniel 2:20,21)

HOW TO PRAY FOR OUR LEADERS “…pray for those who are in authority.” I Tim. 2:2 • Pray that they recognize their need for God and their inadequacy without Him. • Pray that they might lead according to Biblical values and principles • Pray that they might seek God’s wisdom • Pray that they will be able to do God’s will.

  11. C. THINE IS THE KINGDOM MEANING: THE KINGDOM OF MY HEART! “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as LORD, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.” (Rom. 10:9)

  12. III. GOD’S POWER “THINE IS THE POWER…” “Got any rivers you think are un-crossable, Got any mountains you can’t tunnel through, God specializes in things thought impossible, He can do what no other power can do.” “…with God, nothing is impossible.” (Lk. 1:37)

  13. IV. GOD’S GLORY “THINE IS THE GLORY…” “Glory is the enhancement of God’s name and reputation in the world to the extent that God is revered and worshipped by all men.”

  14. HOW DO WE GIVE GOD THE GLORY THAT HE DESERVES? • By how we live and conduct our lives • By how we speak of Him and reverence His name • By how we make our worship of Him a priority in our lives • By being Christ to those around us in how we respond to them.

  15. TRUTH TO LIVE BY: GOD’S KINGDOM, WHICH IS FOREVER, BEGINS WITH HIS RULE IN OUR HEARTS – AND THE SURRENDER OF OUR WILL TO HIS.

  16. TRUTH TO LIVE BY: GOD’S POWER, WHICH IS FOREVER IS AVAILABLE TO EACH ONE OF US FOR WHATEVER WE FACE TODAY.

  17. TRUTH TO LIVE BY: GOD’S GLORY, WHICH IS FOREVER, IS OUR PRIVILEGE TO ENHANCE AND PROMOTE BY HOW WE LIVE OUR LIVES!

  18. TRUTH TO LIVE BY: So when we go to the polls on Tuesday to cast our ballot – Here are two questions to ask: • Which candidate and/or proposition is most consistent with Biblical values? • Which candidate most demonstrates a spirit of humility, integrity, and wisdom?

  19. II CHRONICLES 7:13 “…AND IF MY PEOPLE WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME HUMBLE THEMSELVES AND PRAY, AND SEEK MY FACE AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, THEN I WILL HEAR FROM HEAVEN, WILL FORGIVE THEIR SIN, AND WILL HEAL THEIR LAND.”
