  1. Creating a Classroom Website It’s easier than you think!

  2. Websites in IISD • District website created in FrontPage • Campus websites created in FP or Dreamweaver • HS teachers have access to Dreamweaver • Elementary and MS teachers - ?????

  3. Web Creation Options? • PAST – Front Page classes with licenses – somewhat successful • PRESENT – Mozilla– proven unsuccessful • FUTURE – Microsoft Publisher - ?????

  4. Mozilla vs. Publisher • IISD teachers have access to both. • Both would be published on FTP server. • Both can produce nice-looking websites.

  5. Mozilla • Free download to any computer • Allows for viewing and inserting HTML code • Helps to have some website design knowledge • “Buggy” program • WYSI – frequently not - WYG

  6. Microsoft Publisher • Available to all IISD teachers • Can insert but not view HTML code • Easy to work with • Based on templates – but can be customized • WYSI – most of the time - WYG

  7. You Choose! • Mozilla – www.mozilla.com • or you might try Nvu – www.nvu.com • Publisher – available on your teacher laptop computer • FrontPage or Dreamweaver – purchase license • Something else?
