Athena goddess of wisdom • She was the favorite child of Zeus • Her mother was Metis goddess of wisdom and Zeus' first wife. • She had sprung fully grown out of her father's head. • Athena's power was that she could win every battle and war • She had no weapons • Skilled Hephatus ran to his father and split his skull open and from it emerged Athena, fully grown and wearing her mother's robe and helmet. • She is the virgin mother of Erichthnonius.
Hera, Greek Goddessof Love and Marriage • The goddess Hera ruled over the heavens and the earth, responsible for every aspect of existence, including the seasons and the weather. • She was also worshipped as the Roman goddess Juno, and the month of June is named in her honor. • Hera was the wife and older sister of Zeus. • Hera was known for her jealous and vengeful nature, most notably against Zeus's paramours and offspring, but also against mortals who crossed her, such as Pelias.
