  2. Background • CATS now replaces the previous input system of NACMS • CATS is now used in conjunction with JPAS as repository for security eligibility

  3. Objectives • Update subject’s personal information • Add disqualifying and mitigating factors • Upload files to Documents • Change CAF Stats • Insert pertinent information into Case Notes • Send a case for second review • Successfully update the Eligibility and Review codes

  4. Agenda • Presentation on the various aspects of CATS • Scenarios/Individual practice • Group review

  5. Logging into CATS • Type in CATS URL https://navycats.army.mil/catsnavy • Select EMAIL Cert in pop up box • Type in pass code • CATS Home screen should appear

  8. Scenario 1 • Name: Mickey James Mouse • Investigation: NACLC • Active Duty Enlisted with the Navy • UIC: 30646 • Rank: E1 • POB: Kansas, US citizen by birth • 1 OPM file • No issues • No previous investigations

  9. Scenario 2 • Name: Donald Bill Duck • Investigation: ANACI • Civilian working with the Navy • Rank: GS10 • UIC: 00168 • POB: Mexico, naturalized US citizen • Subject’s mother citizen of Mexico. Subject’s father was born in Mexico but claims US citizenship, not verified • Subject smoked marijuana twice in 2010 • 1 OPM file • No previous investigations

  10. Scenario 3 • Minnie (nmn) Mouse • Investigation: SSBI • Active Duty Enlisted with the Marines • Rank: E6 • UIC: M00274 • POB: California • Subject has $2000 in delinquent debt • 1 OPM file as well as 1 DSS file from 2003 • Must send to second review

  11. Scenario 4 • Name: Harry (nmn) Potter • Investigation: ANACI • Civilian working for the Navy • Rank: GS5 • UIC: 61843 • POB: Maryland • Subject has a recent alcohol offense, and you must refrain to send a JPAS message

  12. Common Problems/Mistakes • Not saving content properly • Inputting incorrect UIC/RUC • Forgetting information such as number of files, foreign family memebers
