Creative Prop Acting Challenge: Group Presentation and Exploration

In today's class, groups will engage in a Creative Prop Acting Challenge. Seats are set in groups and based on first come, first served. Each group will select a prop from the front of the room and come up with 10 unique uses for it in a scene. During presentations, the focus is on acting out these uses without revealing them to the class. Grading will be based on content, creativity, effort, and participation. The most creative group will receive bonus points. Get ready to brainstorm and have fun with your props!

  5. Prop Examples • “Props” is a common skit on the show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” Here are two examples of this sketch. The one difference is that these comedians are improvising on the spot, you will get to plan your scenes in advance. • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEz1x9F5qqU • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pqhf8tIjCzw

  6. Groups • Groups will be called on to pick a prop for their group • The props STAY IN THE ROOM at all times • Take care of them – they are my own personal property and used in 3 different class periods! • Spend class (today and part of tomorrow) planning out and practicing your scenes. Once you have 10 – don’t stop! See if you can come up with more creative ideas to replace some of your more obvious ones...
