    2. From a global perspective, the task seems so overwhelming. Lets bring it down to where we live.

    4. Can the Portland metropolitan area be reached by the transforming power of the gospel?

    5. In The Portland Metro Area There Are 1.6 Million People

    7. What if the 300,000 in Portland had the heart, vision, and know how to reach the 1.3 Million?

    8. Only

    9. However, Not all of the 300,000 who attend church have the heart, vision, and know how to reach four people. Likewise not all the churches are working together to accomplish this mission.

    10. According to George Barna, 85% of the churches in the United States are not effective in helping people to mature in Christ.

    11. God has raised up a networking & partnering ministry called Mission Portland to assist the 500 agencies and 1200 local churches in mobilizing the 300,000

    12. The Mission Portland team is made up of pastors and ministry leaders located in strategic regions of the city to serve the local churches in accomplishing this task.

    13. The Mission Portland team executes four functions: Information Inspiration Enlistment Enabling

    14. It provides Information through: Radio Television Bulletins Newspapers Web Pages City Wide Directory Church and regional tracking

    15. It Provides Inspiration Through

    16. It Provides Enlistment Opportunities Through:

    17. It Provides Enabling Connections to Church Consulting.

    18. It Provides Additional Enabling Resources Through: Your Home a Lighthouse Training Equipping the Saints Training Mission Outpost Training Research Tools Life Coaching Lighthouses of Prayer

    19. When the Spirit of God moves through these four functions supported by intercessory prayer, He will mobilize an army of dynamic witnesses.

    21. We must NET work together

    22. What is the process of connecting the net? First, build and strengthen relationships Second, divide the city into natural regions of churches and ministries Third, assess condition of churches in the region and provide enabling assistance.

    32. Another example of partnering is YOUR HOME A LIGHT HOUSE MINISTRY AND MISSION AMERICAS MOVEMENT OF LIGHTHOUSES OF PRAYER

    33. Each outpost, cell group, house church, or lighthouse of prayer becomes a connection point in a net that reaches across the entire city

    34. Can you see disciple making churches mobilizing the 300,000 into thousands of Mission Outposts, Lighthouses, cell groups and other teams all across Portland and Vancouver?

    35. The Mission Portland team will serve you and your local church in taking the steps to mobilize your congregation and then grow in partnership with other ministries to partner in reaching neighborhoods and businesses in your area.

    36. The 7 Steps in this process of unity are: Step 1 is Prayer Step 2 is Leadership Step 3 is Vision Step 4 is Partnership Step 5 is Research Step 6 is Strategy Step 7 is Tactics

The most urgent need in the Portland Metropolitan area is for you to have the heart, vision, and know-how to partner with a few friends in your church community to take the message of Christ to your friends, neighbors, and co-workers and then to team with the other 300,000 to complete the mission in our city and beyond.
