  7. Producer Overseeing the pre-production, production and post production of the film. This includes • Finding locations • Finding actors/extras • Scheduling times/location of filming days

  8. Scriptwriter Writes the script and works on the storyboard This includes • coming up with the initial idea for the film • writing a script which includes the location of each scene, the dialogue and the movement of the characters in each scene • working with the director on the storyboard to show the DOP what to film

  9. Director Plans the pre-production stage. Makes all creative decisions during the production stage This includes • Working on the storyboard with the scriptwriter • Writing a shot list • Talking with the producer about locations etc • Directing the actors during the shoot • Directing the DOP during the shoot

  10. Sound Person Records the sound during the production and helps the editor to edit the sound and add post-production sound/music. • Record the actors during filming • Record ambient sound during filming • Upload sound to computers • Choose music/sound effects with the editor

  11. Editor Mount the rushes(raw footage) into a completed film. This includes • Uploading the footage to an editing programme • Editing together the footage to tell the story of the script • Adding extra sound effects/music

  12. Actor Performs the script and appears in the film. This includes • Learning the dialogue from the script • Rehearse the script with other actors • Following the director’s instructions during production

  13. Director of Photography (DOP) Controls what the camera does and takes directions from the director This includes • Working on the storyboards with the writer/director • Choosing the framing and camera movement • Setting up the lighting

  14. Stages of production Development As a group come up with the concept and produce a script/treatment Pre-production Produce storyboards, shot lists, shooting schedule, organise locations, choose actors, rehearse script. Production Film the script and record sound Post-Production Edit the footage, add sound effects/music
