  2. History • Early 1990’s Funding for the Improvement of Post Secondary Education (FIPSE) • 1998 – PSU/PLCB Partnership • 1999 – PLCB and PACU partner in a U.S. Education Dept. Grant for Statewide Initiative • 2000 – Staff hired by PLCB for Initiative

  3. Statewide Steering Committee • PA Chiefs of Police representative • Tavern Owners Association representative • College and University representatives • PA League of Cities representative • PA Coalition against Rape representative • PA Dept of Education representative • PA State Police – BLCE representative

  4. Activities supported/promoted by PLCB • U.S. Education National Conference in Pittsburgh • National Social Norms Conference in Philadelphia • Annual Statewide Conference on issues • Creation of Regional Consortiums • Grants - $11,500 each totaling more than $3,000,000 since 1999

  5. Activities supported/promoted by PLCB • Social Norms CD – usable by all colleges and universities • Video – Chairman Stapleton and President Tony Atwater of Indiana University of PA • Printable Materials

  6. In it for the long term! • Partner with others – The Network, League of Cities, State Association of Colleges and Universities • Work with a key President(s) or senior administrators • It is a “nudging” process. Don’t expect large steps or rapid movement in short period of time.
