Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstanon Statistics 19 March, 2010 – new law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On state statistics” • generates statistical methodology in accordance with international standards and based on scientific methods and approaches Article 12 of the Law, Competence of an authorized body - organizes research and development in the field of state statistics

Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstanon Statistics Methodologies and methodologicaldevelopments • As of 01.01.2011, there are 120 methodological materials on organization of statistical surveys and the construction of indicators in the Statistics Agency . • In 2010 17 methodological recommendations were revised and developed in part of improving the statistical branches methodology. • 3 new statistical methodologies were introduced on: • - survey of the Agency’s site visitors; • prices for products and services of fishing and aquaculture; • Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey. • Introduction of 9 new and improvement of 5 existing methodologies by industry statistics: national accounting, price, industry, living standards, demographic and social statistics is planned for 2011

Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstanon Statistics Applied scientific research activities (ASRA) Conducted in order to reduce the period of implementation of standards and determine the most effective ways of adapting international recommendations to implement and improve the methodology for national-level indicators. The results are often presented as a specific methodological developments implemented in statistical practice. To perform, prominent Kazakhstani scholars and analysts are attracted, specializing in the areas of macro-and micro-economy.

Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstanon Statistics Analytical works • To determine the subject, actual questions of economic and social spheres are identified. • Objectives:- Information support for government and industry long-term development programs;- Identification of problem situations that require specific management decisions. Purpose - dissemination of statistical data in the form of analytical reports for a more complete, correct and timely use of official statistics.

  11. Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstanon Statistics Statistical information users survey in 2010 72% of users expressed high degree of confidence in official statistics (more than 75%). More than 85% are satisfied with the volume of published information. Share of users, who receive information from the Agency’s site- 65%, or plus14 percentpoints relative to the data for the previous year. Proportion of users fully satisfied with the presentation of information - 49,2%, or plus 4.8 points. 42% of respondents would like to receive more analytical information, according to the survey.
