  2. Beaker • Performing and observing reactions • Rough measurements • For heating sometimes • Un-capable

  3. Spot Well Plate • Performing and observing many small reactions

  4. Test Tube • Used to perform and observe reactions

  5. Test Tube Rack • Used to dry test tubes • Also used to hold test tubes during a reaction

  6. Wash Bottle • Holding and dispensing liquids • Can contain acid or base • Can be used to clean flasks

  7. Erlenmeyer Flask • Triangular body • Not a beaker • Performing and observing reactions • Can all be different • Accepts a stopper

  8. Florence Flask • Spherical bottom • Performing and observing reactions

  9. Volumetric Flask • Performing and observing reactions at avery accurate volume • Only good for measuring one number

  10. Graduated Cylinder • Measures volume • Only for measuring • Comes in all sizes

  11. Celcius thermometer • Used to be made of mercury • Blue or red is not made of mercury Mercury Thermometer Alcohol Thermometer

  12. Mortar and Pestle • Grinding solids • Made by Native Americans

  13. Stirring rods • Stirring • Very important to be made out of glass • Not going to react to the temperature

  14. Scoopula • Scooping • Skinny so it can fit into test tubes

  15. Rubber stoppers • To cap or plug a container • Some have holes to control what goes into the container

  16. Wire Loop • Performing heat experiments

  17. Flint striker • Used to strike a spark and to ignite a burner

  18. Ring Stand • Long vertical stick that is used for burn reactions • Backbone for reactions

  19. Ring clamp • Clamp onto the ring stand • Make a plat form

  20. Wire gause • Used along with the ring stand to make a shelf • (P.S. The white stuff is supposed to be there in the middle)

  21. Test tube clamp • To clamp onto the ring stand and to attach test tube to the ring stand

  22. Test Tube Holder • To hold a test tube

  23. Bunsen burner • High temperature heating

  24. Beaker tongs • To hold beakers

  25. Wood splints • Used to test for the presence of gasses

  26. Burette • Dispensing small, repeated, accurate quantities of liquids

  27. Pipette with bulb • Add tiny or small amounts of liquids • Portable

  28. Spatula • Scraping “stuff” out of glassware

  29. Hose clamp • Clamping hoses

  30. Condenser tube • Changes states of matter • Changes hot gas into liquids

  31. Alcohol burner • Same as burners • Low temperature heating

  32. Evaporating dish • Withstand high temperature heating

  33. Crucible • Withstand high temperature heating but with a lid

  34. Crucible tongs • Handling hot crucibles

  35. Watch glass • Observing clearly reactions • Made of glass

  36. Funnel • To assist with pouring

  37. Filter paper • Separating solids from liquids

  38. Dropper • Adding small amounts of liquids • Unmeasured drops

  39. Weighing boat • Disposable • For weighing

  40. Hand lens • One lens • To magnify • Low magnification

  41. Beral pipettes • Disposable • Micro pipettes • Same as dropper but with measurement

  42. Boiling chips • Prevents bumping (splashing) from bubbles when in heating • Doesn’t react with experiment

  43. Brushes • To clean Beaker Flask Test tube

  44. Reagent bottle • Storage of chemicals

  45. Petri dish • For growing and culturing fungi
