  2. I saw a movie this weekend. • Simple past tense expresses an activity at a specific point of time in the past Past Now Grammar / Past Tenses

  3. I have seen the movie “Les Miserables”. • Present Perfect expresses an action that happens at one time before now. The action happens at one point, but the time that it occurs is not specific, but a time range before now. Now Present Perfect

  4. I have been watching the Harry Potter movie series, but I still haven’t seen the last episode. • The action starts at some time before now and is continuing through now. Now Action continues Present Perfect Continuous

  5. Before I saw the third Harry Potter movie, I had seen the first and second one so I knew what was happening. • Past Perfect expresses an action that occurs at some time before another past event. Past Event Now Past Perfect
