  4. Stratus • Uniform grayish clouds that often cover the entire sky • 0-6,500 ft. Altitude • Located Worldwide, but especially common around coasts and mountains • Precipitation: No more than light drizzle • Composition: Liquid water

  5. Cirrus • Thin and wispy strands • Typical Altitude: 16,500-45,000 ft. • Location: Worldwide • Precipitation: None that reaches ground • Composition: Ice crystals
