FACTORS FOR SUCCESSFUL PROJECTS • Large demand for hot water to reduce impact of fixed costs • High energy costs (diesel, LPG, electricity) • No reliable conventional energy supply • Strong environmental interest by building owner/operator • Daytime hot water loads require less storage • Maintenance similar to any plumbing system, but operator must be committed to timely maintenance and repairs

SAVINGS ON CARBON EMISSIONS Typically, in Bali, solar heating of 30 m3 of hot water per day from ambient to 60°C will result in preventing the emission of approximately 260 tons of CO2 per year (Source Retscreen4) For hotels, it is a path to worldwide “Green Globe Certification” and other “Eco-Tourism” labels (solar energy ‘harvested’ can be displayed in hotel Lobby and Rooms, on their website…)
