  7. Target Group • Existing MICRO Enterprises Employing up to 5 Workers • Existing SMALL Enterprises Employing from 6-15 Workers Alexandria Business Association SME Project

  8. Operational Approach • New and Repeat Loans are Disbursed on daily basis. Methodology of Approval includes Credit Scoring - Branch Credit Committee - Centralized Credit Committee. • Flexible product based on client’s operating cycle, financial needs and cash flow, with loan range from L.E. 1500 to L.E. 100,000 ($251 - $16722) repayment monthly from 4 to 48 months. • Efficient MIS and an in-house-designed Loan Tracking System (ABA’s Software) which is completely integrated to operations Alexandria Business Association SME Project

Goals & Objectives • To extend credit and non-financial services to poor Female-Headed Households • To assist poor women initiating/expanding income generating activities to improve their living standards • To improve the social, cultural, and health standards of poor women and their families Alexandria Business Association SME Project

Modalities • The program Objective is to Promote graduating Clients to The Small & Micro Credit Program. • The program adopts “Solidarity Group” mechanism in loan extension ( Individual Loans within a Group). • Group consists of Three members (can include man). • Loan amount ranges from L.E. 750 – L.E. 2000 ($126-$336) and are paid on Bi-weekly installments. • Bi-Weekly Repayment Terms. • Loan terms ranges from 15 – 20 installments. ABA & Egypt Post • Financial Inclusion is the main objective for Microfinance Institution, however the regulations were eliminating this. • The agreement will enable ABA’s clients (mainly poor, Ultra poor & Youth) to have services that are not provided by MFI’s. • The agreement will enable ABA to reach new segment of clients and provide products that were not feasible to due to economy of scale. • The agreement will add to Egypt Post’s client base new active clients who will use its diversified range of products(segment that proofed its viability with Microfinance). The Bail fundAnother innovative approach • During 2008 ABA established a bail fund to support its clients in death, disability and crisis . • The fund support for funeral expenses. • The fund resources are deducted from ABA income. • The fund contracted with an insurance company on March 2009 to provide life & disability insurance for all clients. • Several cases were supported by the fund. • The fund cover all risks that are not covered by insurance after social study.
