  3. Rise of Rome • Roman Republic 509 B.C. – 44 B.C. • Roman Empire 27 B.C. – 476 A.D. • Read about the Republic in the Packets. • Who had the Power? How was it organized?

  4. Rise of the Caesars Julius Caesar – General who took control of Rome and essentially ruled as a dictator Assassinated by Senate.   8. Rise of Christianity Through Rome’s imperialism Christianity was able to flourish. Ideas could spread easier in the Empire. Constantine adopted tolerance of Christianity (313 A.D.).

  9. Roman Empire’s Fall 476 A.D. is seen as the end of the Roman Empire. Happened for various reasons. Political, Social, Military. However, the Byzantine Empire prevailed in the East.
