  5. Division of Research Programs Grants support individuals and teams of scholars pursuing advanced research in the humanities that will contribute to scholarly knowledge or to the general public's understanding of the humanities.

  6. For individual scholars NEH Fellowships (6-12 months) Awards for Faculty at HBCUs, HSIs, TCUs Summer Stipends (8 weeks)

  15. NEA Office of Research & Analysis The NEA Office of Research & Analysis conducts research on the value and impact of the arts. Studies examine the impact of the arts on health and human development, community livability, and economic prosperity, as well as trends in audience participation and the impact of technology on arts participation.

  16. Research Goals Identify and cultivate new and existing data sources in the arts Investigate the value of the U.S. arts ecosystem and the impact of the arts on other domains of American life Elevate the public profile of arts-related research

  17. Research Grant Opportunities Beginning in FY2011, the NEA offers funding for research projects in the arts. Guidelines for FY2014 grants will be available at www.arts.gov/research

  18. NEA Projects • Must be matched 1:1 with non-Federal funds • Key criteria: artistic excellence and merit • Discipline specialists are available to provide guidance on the appropriateness of projects for specific deadlines
