To indicate that it’s close to time for a drinks break, simply simulate taking a drink. (Click to see signal) Drinks
To indicate that it’s close to time for an interval other than drinks, simply point to your watch. Interval
To indicate a number of overs, point at one set of stumps, then the other: each point indicates one over. eg: to show one over, point at the stumps at the bowling end. To indicate that this is the final over before an interval, simulate lifting the bails by using the “ball did not carry” signal. (Click to see signal) Final over before interval

To indicate that you believe the ball carried to a fielder, use your hand, palm up, to indicate a lifting motion. (Click to see signal) Ball carried

Wide – opinion • When at square leg, indicate to your partner that you believe the ball was above the striker’s head and was a wide by giving a surreptitious wide signal.
When you wish to have a chat with your partner after the over in progress, give this signal. Imagine you are making a sock puppet talk. (Click to see the signal) Let’s chat
To indicate that you understand what your partner has indicated, or to say “well done!” to your partner, make a surreptitious “thumbs up” signal with one thumb. Understood, or great stuff!

Unsure what ball hit – opinion • If you are unsure whether the ball hit anything, or exactly what it hit, then put your hands behind your back.
