He’s the first of 5 siblings. • When he was a kid, he suffered from asthma, still when he was a grown man, but less. • Because of his asthma he needed to live in Alta Gracia, Cordoba. • The environment in which he lived in was very poor. • He had problems with his parents because his parents were abused by their boss. • When he was five, he had already learned to write and read. • His mother teach him all basic things, and then studied in Dean Funes National School. • He began to learn about Karl Marx and Engels. • He studied medicine due to his disease.

Ernesto soon met the elder brother and quickly had the impression that this guy was his revolutionary idol. As such, El Che decided to join Castro's 26th of July armed group. • When El “Che” Guevara was in Mexico he met Raul Castro, brother of Fidel Castro. At a dinner they started to know each other, and among all the people having dinner they started talking about political problems. A lot of interesting facts made El Che realized most of the problems about politicians, this motivated him to come up with the idea to try and make a big change. Then he goes with the Castro brothers and begin a revolution in Cuba.

He later also decide to keep travelling north until he gets into Guatemala, and there he experiences a coupe. Later he goes to Mexico, and learns more about being a revolutionary.
Notecard 4 • Source: Britannica Encyclopedia, Volume 5 • Subject: For what is he known for • Keyword: famous • Abstracts: • Theoretician and tactician of guerilla warfare, Prominent Communist figure in the Cuban Revolution, and later guerrilla leader in South America. • When I was little I remember my mother saying to some guards to not wear “El CheGuevaras” necklaces or anything about him, because he wasn’t the person many people thought of, that it is true he was a revolutionary and a guerrilla soldier, and that wasn’t good.

He becomes one of Fidel Castros most trusted men, because of his intelligence and skills of being a soldier. • El Che knew how to read and write, he was the one that decided who enters his army, he always asked who had guns and who knew to write and read. If they didn't reach his expectations, they wouldn't go in. Since he was a doctor, he helped all wounded soldiers and if he was in a village he did a medical test to all the people.

They were against what the U.S Government was trying to do, because in their way of seeing the help of the U.S trying to give, will not make any difference in Cuba.
