  2. Solar system types • There are 3 main categories of solar systems adapted for different applications: • Off-grid system • On-grid system • On-grid system with back up • Main focus: On-grid system with back up.

  3. On-Grid System with back-up • This is the most adequate system for Lebanon to cover the daily power failures. • The on-grid system with back-up supplies electricity from the panels directly to the load. • The excess energy is sold back to the gridthrough “Net-metering”. The meter will turn backwards when energy is fed back to the grid and the user will only pay the net value of his consumption. • In case the grid fails and there is no sun, the back-up batteries will continue supplying the load with power.
