  4. Mission “Create, maintain, and implement a Post Readiness Plan to be used in a disaster or emergency event -- for preparedness in times of peace and service in times of war.” Dedicated to the Nation’s Defense Since 1920

  5. Goals • Identify and develop partnerships between contractors, engineering firms and government agencies. • Identify, develop, and communicate sustaining members emergency response capabilities and distribute to all emergency management officials. • Conduct at least one readiness exercise each year.

  6. Program • Maintain a database of Sustaining Members emergency/contingency response capabilities. • Establish lines of communication between military, Federal/State Agencies, local government officials and sustaining members. • Conduct programs each year on readiness. • Participate in emergency exercises, disaster responses or contingency events.

  9. Examples - Emergency Response • Floods - Levee inspection/construction/repair, Displaced people • Earthquake - Collapse structure stabilization, Restore power/water • Fire - Debris Removal, Erosion/flood Control • Terrorisms - Collapse structure etc., Bio - Decontamination

  10. Example Oklahoma City Post • Oklahoma post was prepared with a good plan • Called on early during the Federal Building disaster • Many sustaining members provided assistance

  11. Through Readiness and Rapid Response the effects of a disaster can be further mitigated
