Enhancing Workplace Skills for Better Employment Prospects: ESF Initiative

Boosted by the European Social Fund, Priority 2 focuses on enhancing employment potential through Workplace Learning for individuals aged 19 and above with no qualifications or below Level 2. The initiative targets those working at least 8 hours in companies with less than 1000 employees. It offers funding for vocational learning within the workplace, including Functional Skills, Level 1, and Level 2 qualifications. An exception is made for Level 3 qualifications for 19-24-year-olds in SMEs with fewer than 250 employees. The primary aim is to facilitate progressions such as increasing employee contribution, improving employability, transitioning from part-time to full-time, temporary to permanent roles, achieving promotions, pursuing apprenticeships, and undertaking higher-level skills training.
