The SIMLESA initiative in Tanzania focuses on transferring tested, adaptable agricultural technologies to farmers to improve maize and pigeon pea production. This includes promoting intercropping practices, introducing high-yield maize and pigeon pea varieties, and training communities to produce quality seed. Partnership with farmer cooperatives and local stakeholders is vital for the distribution of these varieties. Our strategy involves utilizing media channels like local radio and social media for farmer outreach, addressing challenges such as limited funding and infrastructure to ensure effective technology transfer.
