What is Performance Improvement Continuing Medical Education (PI CME)? • A ‘long-term’ three-stage (A,B,C) process: • Learn about specific performance measures and assess practice behavior based on selected measures • Implement interventions to improve performance • Reassess practice using the same measures • Involves active participation of physicians and other team members • Option to complete one, two or three stages The physician’s recognition award and credit system: information for accredited providers and physicians. How Easy Is PI CME for QTIP Practices?Evidence-Based Best Practices for the Management of Asthma in Pediatric Primary Care in South Carolina Earn up to 20 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM • 1 – 3 PDSA cycles within 6-month timespan to identify possible practice gap(s) and plan to improve performance • Agree to incorporate practice-side changes • Interact 3 times with the office QI team • Participate in 2 SCORxE visits • Complete SCORxE CME questions in 1-hour CME
