  3. Institutional Parameters • You also need to be aware that PS9001-Institutional Parameter Table includes some institutional parameters which affect leave accounting. The Leave Accounting Training binder list the institutional parameters, their titles, and their definitions in chapter 2. • Page 2-2 in training guide

  6. For an employee to accrue leave, the leave accrual codes for a leave accrual plan must exist on the Employee Status Screen. These codes are college defined. If these fields are left blank, the system will default to the leave plans entered on the Employee Type Table (PS9026). You can enter up to 4 leave plans per employee. Page 3-6 in training guide

  8. Enter “Y” for job to Accrue leave If the employees job contributes towards leave accrual you need to have a “Y” in the job leave ind field.There are 2 options:Y – Yes, job does contribute towards leave accrualN – No, job does not contribute towards leave accrual page 3-11

  9. LEAVE ACCRUAL TABLEThe leave accrual plan needs to exist here, before it can be added to PS0001 Employee Status Screen page 2-11

  10. The Leave Accrual Table Identifies • The leave accrual plan • The leave type to be accrued • The method of accrual • The rate of accrual • Years of service indicator

  11. Years of Service=“Y”Accrue an equal amount each month of the year based on number of years of service

  12. If the Years of Service indicator= “Y” and month/years of service fields are blank, it can also mean that the system will accrue an equal amount each month.

  13. If the Years of Service field =“N”, this means - No, accrue amount specified for each month regardless of years of service Month leave accrues Amount to accrue

  14. Number of months after employment month accrual amount is posted. Amount to accrue upon initial employment

  15. The Percent of Full-time indicator will determine whether or not the leave accrual is prorated based on percent of fulltime.

  16. Initial Employment This shows the amount an employee will accrue on employment.

  17. These 2 fields show whether or not Leave Without Payhas an affect on leave accrual.N=No, LWOP does not affect leave accrualY=Yes, suppress leave accrual if more than the LWOP days are taken

  18. A system defined code identifying What should occur if leave at max 1 – Set back to max at the end of the leave maximum month before that months accrual 2 – Do not accrue over maximum Maximum leave balance that can be maintained for this leave accrual plan. Leave max balance and max cutoff

  34. The vacation leave balance has been restored, and the sick leave balance has been reduced by 8 hours.
