This guide outlines the requirements for the note card assignment on lung cancer. Depending on the size of your note cards, you will need to prepare 10-12 cards for each subtopic with 5x8 cards or 15 cards with 4x6 cards. Each submission will consist of three piles divided by source cards. Your information cards should primarily be paraphrased, with a limit of three direct quotes per subtopic. Follow the detailed layout instructions for organizing your note cards and ensure you meet the deadlines for submission.

NOTE CARD FORMAT REQUIREMENTS: You will need 10-12 Information Cards per subtopic if you have 5x8 size note cards. If you have 4x6 size note cards, you will need at least 15 Information Cards per subtopic. The final product of the note card assignment is to be able to hand in THREE piles of information cards (amount varies depending on card size, as explained above), using source cards to divide the information cards within each pile (each pile will represent a different subtopic). Ask yourself, How would I explain this information to my friends or family? Failure to paraphrase effectively is considered plagiarism. • When quoting someone from a source who is not the author of the source, remember to include that person’s credentials (what makes him/her an expert?).
