  5. History • Originated in a small city called Tequila in Jalisco, Mexico. • In Mexico, Tequila is a symbol of National Pride • Mexico, US, and Europehave laws that consider tequila its national heritage property

  7. History The history of Tequila began with the ancient tribe of Mexico, The Aztec's, the Chichimecan's, the Otomies, the Toltecan's and the Nahuatl's who drank beverages made from the Agave plant that is used to make Tequila. The Aztecs believed that Agave plant was derived from the heavens.

  8. Myths The Ancient version of tequila was drunk by the Aztecs during rituals where one of their tribes would be scarified to one of their many gods & during the orgy that followed.
