New Executive Board is to be elected by our constituency during our FNSA Convention in Daytona Beach this October. • Officers • NEC Handbook • Eligibility to be a candidate- Page 2 • Only Nursing students who will graduate on or after Spring 2015 • Officer and Committee responsibilities- Pages 3-10 • Each officer of the FNSA Board chairs a committee • Nomination Procedure- Pages 11-12 • Pre-Slate will happen from August 30th- September 27th 2014 by 5pm • HOD nominations will end at the second business meeting • Campaign Regulations-Page 12 • Only slated candidates may campaign • Campaigning will begin after the list of pre-slated candidates is released on October 7th. Mission • Organize, represent, and mentor students preparing for initial licensure as registered nurses enrolled in baccalaureate completion programs, in becoming practitioners sensitive to the cultural diversity that exists in our society • Promote the development of the skills needed to be responsible, accountable members of the nursing profession who respect the differences and similarities between people • Advocate for high quality care, utilizing the principles of transcultural nursing • Facilitate the development of peer support systems, which enhance recruitment and retention within the nursing profession

  24. Why should you implement a BTN Project? Implementing a BTN project is a great way to motivate, influence or educate others about the wide variety of opportunities in nursing.

  25. Project Ideas • Become mentors to potential students. Provide “shadow” opportunities for them. • Recruit “second-career” people into nursing by going to business career days. • Attend professional organization meetings and share information about nursing and BTN. • Purchase coloring books for elementary school children on various web sites that explain and promote a positive image of nursing. • Partner with your local nursing organization.

  31. How to start a chapter Your school doesn’t have a chapter-no problem! Contact NSNA office at (718) 210-0705, email them at nsna@nsna.org, or download their “Start a chapter request form” at www.nsna.org . If you need any additional assistance contact your FNSA Membership chair at fnsaregion2@gmail.com

  33. Total Enrollment NSNA offers a total school membership plan. This is a way of enrolling all nursing students at your school by adding their fees into tuition.   35. FNSA - TREASURER Ways and Means Committee

The Committee on Ways and Means shall: • Consist of the Chairperson (Treasurer) and members who represent each region of the state, when possible. • Formulate, organize, initiate, and implement fund-raising activities with prior approval of the Executive Board. • Be responsible for all FNSA Scholarship funds and monies from Pennies PRN. • Be responsible for sustaining membership drives. • Initiate an exchange of ideas and information regarding fund-raising activities between NSNA, FNSA, and local chapters. • Perform all other duties pertaining to the office.
