This meeting is essential for all coaches, with discussions on CORI verification and updates on upcoming important dates, including the Travel Season opener on April 5th. Parents & Players • Parents • Codes of Conduct (see website) • Distribute Parent’s Code of Conduct at FIRST Practice • Players • ½ Game per player • Be there at least 15 minutes early Missing practice is not a reason for not playing
Coaches EquipmentProvided by SYS • At least three size 4 balls or size 5 • 10 to 20 orange discs • Practice pennies - Goalie gloves - Medical Kits • Bag checkout - Tag on each bag for inventory tracking. Each coach put the number of the bag picked next to his/her team on the equipment sign out sheet. • Bag return - We will send out notice/reminder towards the end of the season for time and location of bag return. Challenger • U10 & U12 teams (limited U14) • 2 Challenger Coaches • April 14th kickoff (6 weeks/5 days a week) • Schedule: 2 sessions per team/1.5-2 hrs • Challenger will contact SYS coach in advance of practice session • Sunday clinics:Noon till 5pm/ 1 hour sessions/goalie clinic/coaches sessions? • TRYOUTS: end of May/early June/ dates TBD

Only an official SYS Representative can call for a rain cancellation.

Rescheduling U10 – U18 Games Contact: Mike Cole: Game Re-scheduler fieldcoordinator@shrewsburyyouthsoccer.com • Home coach initiates the process • Confirm date & time with ‘away coach’ • Submit request SYS website - ‘Coaches’ - ‘Reschedule’ • Requests are typically confirmed within 48-72 hours
Rescheduling U10 – U18 Games MAYS By-Laws, valid reasons for a re-schedule • Rainout of a scheduled game • School or Religious event Additionally: • Rainout reschedules must be submitted within (2) weeks after rainout and played within (4) weeks of the rainout • Requests due to school or religious events submitted within 1 week after the start of the season (by April 12)

MAYSL - FINES • Goal Scoring Any team that has a score differential of 8 or more goals will receive a warning for the first offense (SYS policy is 6) Second offense - Coach will be suspended for one game and the town will be fined $150 Third offense - Coach will be suspended for eight games and the town will be fined $150

U10+Coaches Responsibilities • Contact information – Emergency list always on hand • Make certain every child is picked up before you leave! • Make sure all trash/belongings are picked up after practices and games • Bad Weather - Thunder and Lightning (at first sound or sight, off the field, can not return until 30 minutes after last sound or sight!) • Comply with Field Status - May cancel when fields are open, but MUST cancel if fields are closed
U10+Coaches Responsibilities • Age Group Coordinator • Keep score differential under 6 • Any score differential in excess requires review with the Age Group Coordinator and possible further action by the Board. • Set example for SYS • Zero tolerance on Misconduct/Bad Behavior/Bullying

TROPHIES • Trophies are prohibited unless earned in a non SYS hosted tournament and awarded by the tournament
