General comments • It should be useful to have, at the beginning of the document, an executive summary which helps to quickly frame the subject • What about RPC when considering non ionizing radiation? • Aspects of security should also be included in RPC AIRP - Associazione Italiana di Radioprotezione - since 1958

About the introduction • when the “solutions” worked and are considered valid, they are absorbed and accepted by new members, which, in turn, will contribute to the enrichment of the culture • The culture building process has to be seen as a two-way process: not only the “culture influences our perceptions, thoughts and feelings” but everyone to contribute to the evolution of the culture • The culture built and created so far, is our base, but also adapting it to external changing conditions and situations, is part of our base • It should be better stressed and developed that “beliefs, values, and assumptions [are also] brought in by new members” AIRP - Associazione Italiana di Radioprotezione - since 1958

Part 3: Criteria of Success • The document refers to RP Culture and in the first part it explains the focuses on safety and protection • Part 3 seems actually not consistent with RPC • It should be noted that about 12 times are used terms such RSC, RS, SC and S and never RPC • The relationship between Safety Culture and RPC should be a distinctive, peculiar point AIRP - Associazione Italiana di Radioprotezione - since 1958

Part 4: Assessment tools • The beginning of Part 4 appears to cover also subjects which seem referring to Part 3 and therefore it might be useful to move and integrate some aspects within the two Parts • In par. 4.2, the working places, the first point could be splitted in two: • by promoting and creating a positive work environment based on mutual respect, shared understanding and adequate communication among workers, professionals • by creating the conditions for enthusiastic and effective participations to meetings open not only to the workers and professionals involved in a RP service, but also to public, [that should be actively involved into the discussion] AIRP - Associazione Italiana di Radioprotezione - since 1958

  6. Part 5: Stakeholders and Societies • Part 5 dealing with stakeholder involvement seems emphasizing too much the nuclear sector • In addition, it could be adequate to spend few words about: involving stakeholder for doing what ? • The example of involving them for radiation protection decision making process, could be explicitly mentioned AIRP - Associazione Italiana di Radioprotezione - since 1958
