We will be emphasizing positional words such as up, under, and upside down! We will continue to review both the tool vocabulary as well as the vocabulary related to The Three Little Pigs. • Three Little Pigs Vocab: 1st 2nd 3rd Huff, puff, knock, door, chin, bad, chimney, hair, fire, roof, sticks, pot, door, straw, and wolf. (Please remember these words reflect various language abilities and levels.) • Tool Vocabulary: dig, hole, shovel, bucket, hammer, saw, axe, nail, rusty, screw, bench, bolt, chain, chisel, drill, pipe, nut, pliers, power drill, repair, screwdriver, wrench, brick, building, bridge, hard hat, ruler, tool box, wood, clamp, sandpaper, paint, and paintbrush. • Please review these with your child when possible! Weekly News • This is the last week of our unit on Construction and Tools. We will spend time reviewing our tool vocabulary and post-testing to see what new words our students have learned! • We are excited to be able to culminate our unit with a Field Trip to LOWES! We will have a guided tour of the store, focusing on our vocabulary, then have the opportunity to make a project. After visiting LOWES will we stop by Hollingsworth park to play and have a picnic lunch. • Please remember to sign and return your child’s permission slip so that he/she can go on our trip!!! We don’t want anyone to miss out!!! Looking Ahead FIELD TRIP TO LOWES – FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8 FAMILY LITERACY NIGHT & BOOK FAIR-TUESDAY,NOVEMBER 12 (Mariposa, 4-5:30 pm) Hope to see you there!!!!! THANKSGIVING HOLDIDAYS- WEDNESDAY – FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 27-29. As always, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.  This is the last week of our 6 week unit on Construction and Tools. Our next unit will focus on “Families and Traditions. We will spend a week or so discussing what makes up a family and who our family members are. As we get closer to the holiday season, our focus will turn to “family traditions”. We will discuss how our families celebrate the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons.
