  1. Ray Woron

  2. I am originally from Hopewell Junction in the Hudson Valley region of upstate NY.

  3. Education • B.S., Biology, State University of NY at Albany. • MPH, State University of NY at Albany.

  4. Pre-HRPP Career • Medical technologist in the microbiology lab at Albany Medical Center. Part time during grad school. This is where I met my wife Amy. • Albany County Department of Health – restaurant inspector, rabies control program. • NYS Department of Health – Foodborne disease surveillance and outbreak investigations. • Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center – Research Coordinator

  5. How did I end up in Tennessee?

  6. We were tired of the weather, and Amy received a good job offer…

  7. Now we live in Portland. The commute is long but the horses appreciate it.

  8. Lots of property means lots of projects…

  9. Feeding the catfish, in January, in a T-shirt. We like the winters here..

  10. Random Trivia

  11. I enjoy cooking…Pictured: Crawfish boil in New Orleans

  12. Music is my main passtime. I’m a bass player.

  13. I’m a cat person

  14. I root for the Titans, Saints, and Giants in that order..

  15. Other Stuff… • My favorite vacation spot is New Orleans. Highly recommended for fans of food and music. My sister in law and her husband live there. • I have one younger brother who lives near San Francisco. He recently made me an uncle. Still getting used to that idea. • No kids for us, but the 4 horses, 6 geese, and 3 cats keep us pretty busy. • I’m constantly striving to perfect my favorite meal: Steak, hand cut fries, spinach sauteed with garlic. • What one day in your life would you like to live over? The day we moved into our first house. Very exciting and satisfying feeling. The night before moving day we stayed there with nothing but a bed and a coffee maker. I remember waking up not knowing where I was, then realizing I was home. • What do people like most about you? You’d be better off asking them ... • What name do you prefer to be called? Ray. Raymond is fine also. One bandmate always called me Raymundo, but that would seem odd coming from anyone else. • What is the best piece of advice you have ever received? Not really advice, but I learned how to properly use a chef’s knife during my (brief) tenure as a knife salesman.
