  2. The year 2006 was ranked the hottest year on record in the United States. In the past 20 years there have been 78 more days in the U.S. fire season.

  3. No federal bills have been passed in relation to America’s global warming pollution. Only once has George W. Bush mentioned “global warming” in the six, State of the Union speeches he has made.

  4. Hurricanes in the United States, like hurricane Katrina, will increase in size and numbers as an effect of global warming. Developments along the shore will be put in jeopardy as a result of these storms.

  5. 358 mayors, who represent 55 million Americans, signed the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement which is a commitment to beating Kyoto with goals for being eco friendly in their community. Since the year 1990, our fuel emissions have risen 20%. Our carbon dioxide output in the United States is estimated to rise 15% by 2020.

  6. In the western regions of the United States, there is a warning for decreased snow pack levels. 200 million people could be left without homes after coastal flooding. This is a result of increased melt in the polar regions. The rise in sea level will cause events such as; more storm surge and more erosion on beaches, which has already put coastal residences in hazardous situations.

  7. The United States of America is a major role in the inconvenient truth that is global warming. Our carbon emissions have helped cause the melting of permafrost in the artic regions and endangerment of many ecosystems such as that of the polar bear.

  8. 400,000 square miles of snow pack has melted in the past 30 years, that is equal to around the size of Texas. In the year 2030, there will be no more glaciers left in glacier national park

  9. “If every American skipped one meal of chicken per week and substituted vegetables and grains, for example, the carbon dioxide savings would be the same as taking more than half a million cars off of U.S. roads.” “If every American had one meat-free meal per week, it would be the same as taking more than 5 million cars off our roads.” ~Fighting Global Warming With Food If we all ate less snacks and fast food, then it would help fight global warming while also helping with our obesity problems.
