L.; SALGADO FILHO, NATALINO O objetivo desse estudo é a verificação do percentual de pacientes hipertensos com hipertensão arterial refratária em um ambulatório especializado. Em vista dos fatos acima constatamos uma percentagem significativa de pacientes hipertensos com hipertensão refratária, demonstrando a necessidade de mais estudos sobre tal assunto para uma melhor abordagem desses pacientes. Estudo transversal realizado a partir da análise de 244 prontuários de atendidos em um ambulatório de hipertensão no período de novembro de 2010 a maio de 2011. A análise estatística dos dados foi realizada com o uso do software Epi Info. De acordo com os dados analisados 71 pacientes, isto é, 29,09% apresentam pressão arterial fora da meta mesmo com o uso de três classes de fármacos e ou com pressão arterial controlada em uso de quatro ou mais classes.
