  1. INTEGERS INTEGERS can be +(or)- Integers can not be fraction’s or decimals it has to be a whole number like 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0

  2. Examples of integers Thermometers : if its hot out side the temperature will be + (+30) If its cold out side it will be – (-50) Money: you open a bank account and put in $50 . You spend $30 on a new hoody (+50)+(-30)=+20

  3. Rules for adding integers When you add two positive integers your answer will be a positive (+8)+(+5)=+13 When you add two negative integers your answer will be a negative (-4)+(-7)=-11 When your signs are different, you subtract the numbers and your answer will have the same sign as the bigger number (+7)+(-4)=+3

  4. Rules for subtracting integers • When you subtract integers ,the 1st number always stays the same, and you switch the subtraction sign to an add sign and the second number changed to the opposite sign. • (+7)-(-4)=(+7)+(+4)=+11
