Mobile Phone Use/Penetration Stats • 3.3 billion mobile phone subscriptions globally • 6.6 billion people globally = mobile phone subscription for half of the planet • 1.3 billion people use the internet worldwide, 1.3 billion fixed landline phones • 850 million cars in use worldwide, 1.5 billion TV sets, 1.4 billion people own at least one credit card globally • Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, SonyEricsson and LG ship over a billion phones annually • 2.6 billion people have at least one phone

Mobile Internet V PC-Based Internet • 900 million personal computers – 1 billion by the end of 2008 • Annual PC Sales is in decline in certain markets - Japan • 25% of all mobile phone users around the world access the internet on their phones (Real Networks 2007) • 1.3 billion internet users, only 37% access exclusively by personal computers (desktops and laptops) - includes all access from internet cafes and computer labs and shared PCs. • Another 33% of internet users access by both PC and mobile. • Already 30% of all internet access in 2007 was exclusively from mobile phones • Today (Feb 2008) = • Mobile is to Internet what TV is to Radio

Mobile Internet V PC Internet Content Revenues • In 2004 – Mobile internet content revenues exceeded those of fixed-line internet • In 2006 25 billion dollars of internet content revenues vs 31 billion on mobile content (Guardian, May 2007) • ENORMOUS growth in 2007 = VAS content on mobile worth 45 billion dollars (Informa Jan 2008) • Top two content areas on the PC internet are pornography and gambling • Top two categories on the mobile internet = Music ($8.8 billion) and mobile social networking ($5.05 billion) • SMS Texting is the most used data application on the planet • With handset sales mobile will be a trillion dollar industry by the end of the decade

Mobile Internet V PC Internet The Next Couple of Years • 59 countries have passed the 100% per capita subscription penetration (Informa Nov 2007). • Hong Kong, Taiwan, Israel, Italy have penetration rates of 130% and above and European average penetration is about 110% • USA = 85% • 3.5G services in S-East/East Asia has led to broadband mobile access • Incredibly fast developing world take-up. India – 10 million new subscribers a month • Mobile Internet will Grow and Grow and Grow
