What is HEe? • HEe is part of the Economics Network of the Higher Education Academy • Aims: • To encourage and support teaching and learning in health economics in UK universities. • To create a community of health economics teachers willing to share ideas, resources and expertise in health economics teaching. • To promote health economics to potential students.

  3. HEe: progress during the last 4 months • Website of teaching and learning resources www.economicsnetwork.ac.uk/health/ • Individual contacts used to build a network of academics interested in supporting and promoting health economics teaching • Sources of funding identified for planned projects, and views about what resources and support would be most helpful/effective.

  4. HEe: planned developments 2008/9 • Establish a formal Advisory Group • Formal links with iHEA & HESG • HEA project funding applications to support • An audio-visual resource (e.g. a series of short interviews with leading health economists about their work) • Development of algebraic problem sets for UGs • Strategies to promote health economics in the UG curriculum • Special issue of IREE (proposal being drafted) • Develop materials/resources for ‘why study health economics’ (aimed at potential students)
