  3. The past simple is often formed by adding - ed to the verb (regular verbs) EXAMPLES: work stay clean worked stayed cleaned arrive start dance arrived started danced

  4. SPELLING: 1. Regular verbs ending in-eadd-d. Ex: 2. If the verb ends in aconsonant + y we drop the–yand add-ied. Ex: 3. If the regular verb ends in a consonant + vowel + consonant we double the last consonant. Ex: move d like d dance d stu d ied y t r y ied s t o p p ed l p a n n ed

  5. Some verbs are irregular. These verbs doNOTend with – ed. Example: begin began find found break broke get got build built hear heard catch caught make made drink drank see saw eat ate speak spoke

  9. For QUESTIONS we use: Did + subject + verb ? OR Wh- + did + subject + verb? Examples: Did you sell your car? Did you speak to your friend yesterday? Did she write a letter last night? Where did you go last week?

  10. SHORT ANSWERS: I / we / you / they he / she / it Yes, did. I / we / you / they he / she / it No, didn’t.
