The modification involves converting ANITA II short boards to full-band capabilities. Break into the chain before the diode has been completed, enabling 8 channels for S11 measurements. The Iridium Open Port is under evaluation as a possible telemetry link with data rates as high as 80 kbps observed during ground tests. The frequency of operation is TX and RX at 1616 to 1626.5 MHz. A Photoshop drawing by Drew Denny illustrates the ANITA II Mast with flight GPS antenna mounted on the support frame. The University of Delaware conducted altitude checks on the GPS signal simulator.
