Daily Schedule • Academic Classes – 4 hours • Communication Skills • Math • Science • Social Studies • Exploratory Classes – 1.5 hours • 2 classes per day (45 minutes each) • Physical Education • Health • AIG • Band • Art • Music • Computer Skills and Applications • Career Exploration • Media/Guidance (6th Grade)

  4. Daily Schedule • 8:15am – 3:00pm • Students will be allowed to enter the building at 7:45am. • Students will proceed to the cafeteria if eating breakfast or to the gym if not eating breakfast. • Drop-off and Pick-up for Cars • Sidewalk to the right of the building • Pull as far forward as possible in the mornings and afternoons • In the afternoon, cars will line up along the sidewalk and in the painted lanes (#1 - #5).

  5. Buses • Bus information available in Media Center immediately following this meeting. • Pick-up/Drop-off times for the first few days of school

  6. Morning Tardies • The Tardy Bell rings at 8:15am. • Students will be required to sign in at the office. • After-School Detention if more than 3 tardies are accumulated during the quarter. • Parents will be required to come in to the office to sign students in once they reach 3 tardies for the nine weeks. • Early Check-Outs • Students cannot be signed out between 2:30-3:00pm. • The office is very hectic and teachers are busy with final instructions for students. • Early check-outs should not occur on a frequent basis. • After-School Detention if more than 3 Early Check-Outs are accumulated during the quarter.

  7. PE Information • Students will be required to Dress Out each day during PE. • Uniforms will consist of shorts and a t-shirt. • Uniforms will be for sale following this meeting ($20 for shirt and shorts). • Shorts – black or navy blue, knee-length • Shirts – green, must have sleeves

  8. Clubs / Extracurricular Activities • Art Club • Running Club • FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) • Battle of the Books • Student Council • Sportsman Club (Archery, Fishing, Shooting, Hunter Safety) • FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) • Yearbook • News Team • Scrapbooking • Drama • BETA Club • Pep/Spirit Club • Service • Jazz Band • Photography

  9. Student Discipline Plan • Level System – 1 to 6 • Each nine weeks, students begin on a Level 4. • Each level has different privileges or consequences. • Team teachers will explain the plan in detail with the students. • Rules • I will follow all directions. • I will respect the rights, feelings, and property of others. • I will be in my assigned area at all times. • I will be prepared for class.

  10. Dress Code • Pants or jeans cannot have any holes or anything resembling holes (i.e. a hole with threads across it) above the knee. • Shorts and skirts must come to the fingertips of students with hands down by their sides. • Straps must be at least 2 inches wide, approximately the width of the student ID card. • Flip flops are allowed for students.

  11. Lunch • Three separate lunches • Go to lunch with academic team teachers • One grade level in the cafeteria • Lockers • 6th grade • Most students will have their own locker, a few will share. • 7th and 8th grades • Students will share lockers.

  12. PTO Information • Memberships - $5 per family • WSMS T-shirts - $10 • September 10 at 7:00pm • Opportunity to join PTO tonight or prior to the Sept. 10 meeting • Discount Card Fundraiser • Back to School Dance • Friday, September 7 (7:00-9:30)

  13. Parents of AIG Students • Please see Mrs. Ingle in the front lobby before you leave tonight. • School Nurse • Students who will have meds at school or have any medical condition should see the nurse in the main office. • Tdap Immunizations due Sept. 25
