  2. eGovernment Committee “To further the use of Open Data and Apps and to ensure the responsible use of surveillance technology and citizen data by the City of Seattle” Secondary Mission: “To have the most ridiculous PowerPoint Theme of them all”

  3. Summary of Priorities • High priority work items (1-2) • Promote the use of Data.Seattle.Gov (DSG) through the writing and dissemination of “how-to” articles and Brainstorm content. • To support the city’s efforts in the upcoming Evergreen Apps event, coming in Fall 2013-Spring 2014 • Medium priority work items (1-3) • Monitor and comment upon city legislation and policies regarding surveillance, drone usage and privacy • Working through Bruce’s department to get other city departments to make their open datasets available through DSG

  4. Meetings • Last Tuesday of the Month • Starting at 6:00PM • Ending at 8:00PM • Ben’s office • There will always be “refreshments” available.

  6. eGovernment Best Practices • Goals / Description: To research what has been accomplished in Singapore and South Korea in regards to eGovernment apps and build an overview which we can present to the board and to a wider audience. • Deliverable(s): A Brainstorm article, contributed to by multiple members of the committee and disseminated via multiple channels (web, facebook, twitter, skywriting) • Timeline: End of June • Project lead(s): Ivan Orbegozo

  7. Data Visualization Techniques • Goals / Description: To present to a larger audience, some nice ways to take DSG and use some common data visualization tools to present it in an interesting and usable fashion • Deliverable(s): A Brainstorm article, contributed to by multiple members of the committee and disseminated via multiple channels (web, facebook, twitter, skywriting) • Timeline: End of July • Project lead(s): Beryl Fernandes

  8. Disseminating the City Civic Calendar • Goals / Description: To promote the usage of the existing city calendar and push it’s information to other community groups. • Deliverable(s): A Brainstorm article, contributed to by multiple members of the committee and disseminated via multiple channels (web, facebook, twitter, skywriting) • Timeline: End of August • Project lead(s): Dan Stiefel
