Welcome to the Challenger Middle School Media Center! Our library hours are from 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM. Students may check out 2 books for up to 2 weeks. Please note, overdue fines of $0.10 per school day apply, and you cannot check out new books if you have fines or overdue items. For those interested in Accelerated Reader, look for the marked books. Circulation Procedures • Each student may have 2 books checked out at any one time. • Books may be kept for up to 2 weeks. • Fines are assessed on overdue books at .10 per school day • Students may visit the library everyday. • If you have an overdue book or owe a fine, you may not check out another book until you are clear with the library.

  6. Accelerated Reader • Books in the CMS library which have tests for accelerated reader are marked with a dot on the spine. • The reading level of each book is indicated on the inside the front cover

  7. How to load the library search shortcut to your desktop • Go to www.challengermiddle.org

  8. Put your cursor over the word Atriuum in the left column • Right click and choose copy shortcut • Minimize the website • Place your cursor on the desktop • Right click and choose paste shortcut

  9. Now double-click the OPAC icon and open the search catalog

  10. In the Account box on the right Click log in

  11. Student log-on User name: first name [space] last namePassword: birthdate mmddyy After logging on, go to the account tab.

  12. Searching for a book • If you know the author’s last name, go to the fiction area and look for that letter of the alphabet. • If you know the call number of a book, go to that place in the library. By John Smith FIC SMI
