  2. HOW TO USE Download Tools Step1 • Upload the downloader by double-clicking the“Optiflash.exe”

  3. Step2 • Select the “Options” -> “Settings” -> “Generic” • Choose hardware platform for the downloader file setting • Set the everything else as the default values which are shown below

  4. Step3 • Select the COM port where the download cable is connected.

  5. Step 4 • Select the “Flash&Verify” -> “Browse” • Set the directory path and choose • the latest s/w binary Becare the Reserved memory regions. 0x00002000 – 0x00003fff 0x00008000 – 0x0000dfff

  6. Step 5 • Click “OK” button then press “Flash” • Power on mobile phone with battery or charger • Downloader will upload the binary file as below for • the downloading.

  7. Step 6 • When downloading is finished successfully, • there is a “All is well” message. • After finishing downloading, Certain memory resets • should be done to guarantee the normal performance • Confirm the downloaded version name by keystring(*#9999#) • Memory reset will be done by pressing the following keystrings. • Full Reset : • “*2767*3855#” will reboot the phone automatically.

  8. HOW TO USE TRACE TOOLS • Execute OptiTrace.exe

  9. Select bin tool Then following popup window will show.

  10. Click the icon

  11. Setting the trdata.bin location and press OK

  12. Confirm the location of trdata.bin then Press OK • Go to File menu and then click ‘serial port’

  13. Set the serial port then press OK

  14. Select Filter tab Related with GPRS data, you can choose GPRS FieldTest

  15. Select Trace tab and click the toggle connection serial port toggle connection serial port

  16. After examine the phone function, if problem is exist then • click ‘Archive the trace results’ • Write the file name and description and save

  17. Under the trace folder, SMS.txt is made, you send this txt file • to SAMSUNG.

  18. Engineer Key Strings • *#9998*377# (ERR) : View error log • *#9999# :View official s/w version name • *#8888# : View official h/w version name • *2767*3855# : Full Reset (custom+wap+ funbox) Warning)Thiskey string(3855) erase all customer’s information like PHONE BOOK,FUN BOX etc.

  19. Checklist for “Problem Report” • Frequency: every time after special procedure? or once a day? … • Location or time • How to reproduce • Trace logs • Detailed error logs. • When critical error occurs, stores up to 5 error logs to NVM(Non Volatile Memory) and supports two methods to access the error logs • Use “trace” to get detailed information.
