    1. El subjuntivo y las conjunciones de tiempo We have used the subjunctive so far to make judgments, to express emotions and to express doubt. The subjunctive may also be used with certain conjunctions to refer to actions that have not yet occurred: Yo te llamar tan pronto como termine la tarea.

    2. To remember these conjunctions, simply remember: CHET MD

    3. C - cuando - when H - hasta que - until E - en cuanto - as soon as T - tan pronto como as soon as M - mientras que - while D - despus de que - after

    4. 3 types of sentences Since we are now referring to time, there are 3 times that we may refer to: (before conj.) (after conj.) 1. Future/Command - Subjunctive 2. Present/Habitual - Indicative 3. Past - Indicative

    5. Future- we use the subjunctive when the action after the conjunction has NOT YET OCURRED Voy a salir en cuanto termine la tarea. Saldr I will leave as soon as I finish the homework I havent finished yet...so I use the subjunctive

    6. Ir +a+ inf.: Voy a salir en cuanto pueda Future: Saldr en cuanto pueda. Command: Sal en cuanto puedas!

    7. El presente: Use the present INDICATIVE after the conjunction if the action occurs habitually Yo siempre hago la tarea tan pronto como llego a la casa. Yo como cuando llego a la casa. The action after the conjunction normally occurs and does not refer to a future time.

    8. El pasado WE ALWAYS use the past indicative (preterite or imperfect) when we are using these conjunctions in the past, because the past HAS ALREADY HAPPENED.
