Third Year • Curriculum (Traditional) • Internal Medicine (inpatient) – 8 weeks • Internal Medicine (outpatient) – 4 weeks • Surgery – 8 weeks • Neurology – 4 weeks • Family Medicine – 6 weeks • Obstetrics and Gynecology – 6 weeks • Pediatrics – 6 weeks • Psychiatry – 6 weeks
3rd Year Scheduling • Two Step Process • Step 1 order of clerkship • Scheduled using random order • Step 2 site of clerkship • Asheville, Charlotte, Greensboro, Wilmington, etc • Will need to apply promptly for AHEC Housing! • Opportunities for switching order and/or site • 48 months of instruction • 4 weeks off • 2 week winter break • 1 week spring break • 1 week before starting 4th year

Scheduling Deadlines • September 15th– Asheville & Charlotte Program Applications Due • October 6th – 7th– Asheville Interviews • October 7th – 8th– Charlotte Open House / Interviews • November 1st- Deadline for submitting Clerkship Preference Forms • October/November- Required Meetings with Advisors
3rd Year Calendar 2014/2015(dates tentative) • Required EPIC (EMR) Training/Transition Course: June 23rd to July 3, 2014 • Clerkships start July 7st, 2014 • Required Class Meeting December 19, 2014 • Winter break: December 20th 2014 to January 4th 2015 • Spring break • March 28 to April 5, 2015 • Or • April 25 to May 3, 2015 • Clerkships end June 26, 2015 • Summer break June 27 to July 5, 2015
